Seawatch - Wednesday, October 11, 2017

The Seawatch is finally starting to kick it into high gear. Wednesday brought good numbers and diversity of dabbling ducks including Wood Duck, Green-winged Teal, American Wigeon, Northern Pintail, and the season-first Greater Scaup. We're also starting to see bigger flocks of scoters and Double-crested Cormorants and the first few lines of migrating Northern Gannets.

Check out the totals here: http://www.trektellen.nl/count/view/1747/20171011

And check out all these photos!

A flock of Green-winged Teal passes along the jetty.
It was Wood Duck Wednesday!
The scoters are ramping up!!
A closer look at some scoters (Black Scoters, in this case).
We've also been seeing plenty of Peregrines migrating and hunting along the dunes.
Cheers!
Melissa
