Morning Flight, Sunday-Monday, 8 & 9 October 2017

South winds all over the region from the big tropical depression have been the case for a couple more days now. There was little takeoff visible on the radar and a lack of upper westerly wind to create drift of migrants to the northwest of Cape May. Migration was almost completely shut down save for a few intrepid songbirds (mostly butter butts) taking on the headwind and coming down in altitude. 

Not much to see here folks but this lack of birds detected is still interesting and valuable negative data of a sort:
