Seawatch - Tuesday, October 3rd, 2017

A few days late, Tuesday was an overall slow day highlighted by a few hours of activity.  An uptick in southbound Laughing Gulls and Northern Gannets, as well as some Parasitic Jaegers, kept the morning busy while the afternoon had small flocks of Double-crested Cormorants and Black Scoters. 126 Forster's Terns headed south as well, marking the first noticeable movement for this species.

The best part of the day was a decent sized flock of Tree Swallows that graced the fence behind the shack early in the morning.

A Tree Swallow shows off his/her dance moves to his/her acquaintances.

One bird was banded, with a transmitter!

Notice the transmitter sticking out from the end of the tail.

Trying his/her best to fit in!

And my local friend kept me company toward the end of the day.

Herring Gull.
