Hawkwatch - Friday, October 6, 2017

South winds were no match for today's migrating Peregrine Falcons. Those sleek and stealthy falcons propelled themselves through oncoming headwinds with ease. Some flew by high while several flew by low. The warm south winds kept most of the flight to the north of the hawkwatch. Visitors this evening were treated to up to three Peregrine Falcons in a binocular view at the same time! A grand total of 72 Peregrine Falcons were seen today. Even with continued south winds it will be interesting to see how the falcon flights are in the days to come, as we are in the peak timeframe for Peregrine Falcon migration. See you at the hawkwatch!
