Hawkwatch - Thursday, October 5, 2017

Strong and warm south winds kept birds high and distant at the Cape May Hawkwatch. The count totalled 100 migrating raptors today. Tomorrow's winds are expected out of the southwest. Although the back to back days of south winds are not conducive for huge flights of raptors, there will be some raptors moving through for sure. Multiple days of south winds also increases the likelihood of rare birds wandering up from the southern states. From raptors to songbirds, waterfowl to terns, and so much more, you'll never know what you'll see at the Cape May Hawkwatch. Hope to see you there!
