Seawatch - Sunday, October 8, 2017

Another slow day of south winds, with a few notable highlights!  Six Parasitic Jaegers was the best count of the season so far, as well as five Peregrine Falcons heading south (a small snapshot of the 60+ tallied at the Hawkwatch today).  Single Northern Shoveler, Wood Duck, and White-winged Scoter were all notable migrants.  Only a measly six cormorants were seen heading south!

Make sure to get out birding this week!  Tuesday the winds shift to westerly, which could provide some interesting hawk and passerine flight especially in Cape May Point, and then Wednesday the winds shift to northeast, which should provide some much needed action for the seawatch!
