Hazy, hot, and humid was once again the theme during Wednesday's count, though the morning's light west winds brought some fog off the bay, while the afternoon sea breeze provided a bit of relief and delivered some fog off the ocean. It was a typical first-week-of-September flight, with little happening until the mid morning, followed by a mid-day parade of Osprey that was peppered with other early-season migrants. Non-raptors of note included ca. 900 Barn Swallows, a late push of Purple Martins, 77 Lesser Yellowlegs, a Wilson's Phalarope, a smattering of hummingbirds, and an unseen Whimbrel. Tomorrow looks to bring more of the same.
