Morning Flight, Sunday, 3 September 2017

The atmosphere/weather was similar to yesterday's count except the winds were the opposite of yesterday, coming in from the WSW.  The patches of rain the night before may have lessened the potential of this day. There were still about twice as many landbird migrants as the previous day. A great highlight was the appearance of 4 Common Nighthawk in the early part of the morning. Northern Waterthrush seems to appreciate cloudy days and their count of 23 north even outnumbered the rather ubiquitous and most abundant of the warblers at this time of season, the 20 northbound American Redstart.
