Hawk Watch Sunday November 13, 2011

It has most certainly been a slow November but there are still treats and treasures to find throughout Cape May Point.

Even though it's mid-November and the vast majority of Osprey have left, there are still a couple of youngsters hanging around the point hunting the ponds.

Tundra Swans are just starting to migrate through in decent numbers. Many of the ponds here look like the perfect resting spot except for the aggressive Mute Swans that usually chase the other native swans off. This particular Tundra Swan has managed to win over the Mute Swans currently on one of the plover ponds along the dune trail and has been present for the past 3 days.
