A relatively slow but still very enjoyable day today at the seawatch. A quiet day on the cormorant front, with less than 500 migrants compared to over two thousand scoters. Action started to pick up a bit in the late afternoon with a nice collection of dabbling ducks and some nice lines of scoters.
Highlights today included 11 American Wigeon, 5 Northern Shovelers, 2 Greater Scaup, 1 White-winged Scoter, and 1 Parasitic Jaeger. A male Common Eider passed going north. A Red-throated Loon (one of three counted today) dropped down briefly in front of the watch before continuing south, and a Dickcissel appeared with the group of House Sparrows that frequent the pines next to the watch.
