Entire pond had ice until nearly 1:00pm. Very clear skies all day with winds from the SW 10-15mph. Raptor Observations: Harriers, red-tails, and red-shoulders mixed with vultures during the late morning. Fairly high and over the northern treeline. Non-raptor Observations: Pond was frozen most of the day, so far fewer ducks than usual, but quite a few sparrows were around including White-throated, Song, Swamp, Field, Fox and Dark-eyed Junco. American Bittern(1) on pond. Predictions: Sunny, temps in the mid-50's, SW winds 10-15mph.
