Today was Cormorant Appreciation Day at the Avalon Seawatch. Why, you ask? Well, because without today's 2,730 Double-crested Cormorants, the total count would only have been 717 individuals!
In all seriousness though, it was a fairly slow day at the seawall, with a huge lull during the afternoon hours. Some highlights included 31 Brown Pelicans, 3 Parasitic Jaegers, and a Lesser Black-backed Gull.
