Avalon Seawatch - October 11, 2011

A change in the weather brought an increase in migrants past the Seawatch today. Empty skies at dawn were quickly filled by three-digit flocks of Double-crested Cormorants and bunches of Green-winged Teal. Later, as the clouds thickened and a strong northeast breeze developed, numerous scoter flocks paraded past. Six Parasitic Jaegers were a highlight, and 33 more Brown Pelicans put our season total for that species well over 200.
