Today's songbird morning flight at Higbee Beach was a bit slower than anticipated. I've had visions of thousands of warblers dancing through my head for the last few days; these were dashed, apparently by lingering rain through the first half of the evening last night which likely prevented large numbers of songbirds from taking off on nocturnal migration. That said, there were around 200 warblers past the Dike today, about 3/4 of which were Northern Parula. The balance of the flight was dominated by Blackpoll Warbler and Black-throated Blue Warbler.
