Light westerly winds brought a nice little hawk flight to Cape May today. Ospreys were on the move throughout the day, though they were a bit difficult to find at times against a deep blue and cloudless sky. Kestrels were evident early on, but an afternoon push never materialized.
Bald Eagles were a definite highlight for many of our visitors today, and while most eagles were quite high and sailing off toward Delaware, some lingered for a few minutes to be admired by the unusually large Wednesday crowd.
The day's total of 318 raptors was the largest to date, but could easily be beaten tomorrow...stay tuned!
