Seawatch - Monday, Nov 6, 2017

Compared to the weekend, today was a slow and relaxed day.  Warm southwest winds brought only around 6600 birds.  Most notable were the Northern Gannets, which took off heading south by the hundreds in the first hour after sunrise and ending the day with 915, the best day of the season for them--so far.  The rest of today's birds were a pretty even split of Surf and Black Scoters.  A male Common Eider and two White-winged Scoters sat and foraged by the 8th Street jetty for most of the day, which was a nice treat.

The next couple days will bring northeast winds, so expect some birds!
