As uneventful and monotonous as yesterday was, today was every bit the opposite. The common theme throughout the day were constant movements of Northern Gannet, Red-throated Loon, Herring Gulls. In addition to the Gannets moving throughout, there were probably around 1,000 in view through much of the day feeding between the Seawatch and Atlantic City.
Other species moving in higher than normal numbers were Bufflehead, Hooded Merganser, and Wood Duck. Possibly the most unexpected countable bird was a Cattle Egret that passed us by in the late afternoon which, as I understand it, represents only the 3rd record ever for the Seawatch.
