Calm winds to start, becoming W/NW through the rest of the AM before shifting to S shortly before noon. Raptor Observations: Almost all movement was restricted to the late-morning hours. Very high flight against blue skies. Essentially all movement shut down in the afternoon with the onset of south winds. Non-raptor Observations: A great morning movement of Monarchs (3600+), as well as thousands of dragonflies (primarily Black Saddlebags, with smaller numbers of both gliders, Common Green Darners and Carolina Saddlebags). A small songbird flight included 2 Dickcissels, 4 Cape May Warblers, 6+ Red-breasted Nuthatches and 1 Magnolia Warbler. Predictions: Sunny; SE winds
