Seawatch - Sunday, October 7, 2018

Sunday was another day of southwest winds, which made the day relatively slow, although the morning had some birds moving, including both loons ad 16 Brown Pelicans.  Nearly 1000 southbound Black Scoters were tallied, but interestingly nearly 600 scoters were seen heading north--possibly birds that Tom Reed saw exiting the Delaware Bay earlier in the morning and that had wrapped around Cape May Point and heading north to northern wintering grounds.  A few Northern Shoveler, American Wigeon, and Green-winged Teal were mixed in with scoters throughout the day.

Check out todays total: http://trektellen.org/count/view/1747/20181007

Cheers,
David
