Avalon Seawatch, 15 December 2016

It was a frigid day at the Avalon Seawatch today.  Winds blew from the northwest, and increased in speed throughout the day.  By the end of the day the winds were consistently over 30mph, with gusts up to 45mph!  The bird flight was slow, making it a long day at the seawatch.  Scoters, ring-billed gulls, and black duck made up the majority of the flight.  The total number of birds observed was 1,314.

There is only one week left of the Avalon Seawatch! Visit us sunrise to sunset, everyday until December 22nd, between 8th and 9th street in Avalon.
