Winds 5-10mph from the NW to start, shifting to W by midday and WSW by mid-afternoon. A blue sky from start to finish. Raptor Observations: A generally high (but not stratospheric) flight that featured the season's first three-digit Peregrine tally and a nice Harrier movement. Small falcons tried to make their presence known during the late-PM, but weren't overwhelming. Non-raptor Observations: A fantastic morning songbird flight, highlighted by Connecticut Warbler (1), Pine Siskin (~200), Dickcissel (2), "yellow-bellied" Kingbird (1- seen briefly while going away by an experienced observer), Indigo Bunting (15+), Blue Jay (250++), and thousands of distant warblers overhead and to the north. Also: Great Cormorant (1), Glossy Ibis (1), Pectoral Sandpiper (14), Northern Rough-winged Swallow (10+), Wood Duck (~50), Hooded Merganser (9), Red-bellied Woodpecker (15+) Predictions: Warm with SW winds.
