Hawkwatch - Friday, October 13, 2017

Today was a fast-paced day of migration as east winds prevailed once again. A little early morning rain  was followed with patches of drizzle throughout the day. Even with a little precipitation here and there, the flow of birds persisted. A rare-for-the-area White Ibis was seen flying by the hawkwatch twice today. It was a crazy day of zig-zagging Merlins, Peregrine Falcons, and masses of Great Blue Herons.

This uncommon Dickcissel perched in the cherry tree. It was such a treat to see up close!

An unexpected find... a White Ibis!
