Morning Flight - 3 October 2014

Birds resumed their southward journey through our region. A decent migrant diversity in moderate low numbers was recorded. That adds up to 286 warblers of 13 species. Hopefully the zugunruhe (migratory restlessness) is building and we will have a few large flights to watch this upcoming weekend and next week. KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE WEATHER AND RADAR FOR THIS COMING SUNDAY, MONDAY, AND WEDNESDAY-- ALL LOOK VERY PROMISING.

Weather and time: cloudy; 59-63 ºF; winds NE at 5-8 mph; 95% cloud cover; very good visibility; 0657 sunrise; 3.25 hours.
