Hawk Watch Friday November 12, 2010

Another slow day at the Hawk Watch platform with most activity scattered throughout the first half of the day. We did have multiple views of a Northern Goshawk which is always a nice treat.

Observers:

Weather:
Light to moderate NNE winds slowly becoming NNW but then abruptly becoming
SE for the last two hours. Clear skies with no cloud cover.

Raptor Observations:
Limited movement today, but we had a fair number of Sharp-shinned Hawks,
vultures, and Red-tailed Hawks.

Non-raptor Observations:
Black-bellied Plover, Eastern Bluebirds, Common Loon, lots of scoters

Predictions:
Light to moderate North winds becoming NNE in the afternoon along with
sunny skies again. It will probably be another fairly slow day again.
