Morning Flight Wednesday October 20, 2010

Overcast skies and light, unfavorable winds put a bit of a damper on the songbird morning flight at Higbee Beach today, but there were still lots of birds around. Pine Siskins made their best showing so far this fall, with over 100 birds highlighted by pure flocks of 27 and 43. Later in the morning at Cape May Point State Park, large flocks of Pine Siskins mixed with goldfinches and House Finches were swirling by and feeding along the lee of the dunes.
